Kerala is a state tucked away in the southwest corner of India. The state is often referred as "God's Own Country". Kerala has a total area of 38,863 sq km and has a population of 33,406,061 inhabitants. The state is bordered by the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu along with the Laccadive Sea. Thiruvananthapuram (also known as Trivandrum) is the capital of Kerala, which is famous for the Kovalam beach, one of the top beaches in the world. The state of Kerala is divided into fourteen districts. Each of them has a distinct character. About Madhya Pradesh Landlocked in the central part of the country, Madhya Pradesh is bordered by the states of Rajasthan to its northwest, Uttar Pradesh to its north, Chhattisgarh to its east, Maharashtra to its south, and Gujarat to its west. Madhya Pradesh had the honour of being the largest state of the country until Chhattisgarh was carved out of it on 1 November 2000. Madhya Pradesh has a mixed topography that consists of both hills and plains. About Meghalaya Meghalaya, the Abode of Clouds, is a state in the Northeast region of India. The state has a total area of 22,429 sq km and about one third of the state is under mountain forest cover. Meghalaya has a total population of 29,66,889, as per the 2011 census. Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya. The state is surrounded by Assam to its north and Bangladesh to its south. Meghalaya lies in the Northeastern part of India. The fact remains that a major part of the border of the state is situated on the north and eastern part of Assam. The south and west part are with Bangladesh. About Mizoram Mizoram is one of the seven sisters of Northeast India, bordered by Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) to its east and south, Bangladesh to its west, and the states of Manipur, Assam, and Tripura to its north. About Nagaland Nagaland is one of the northeastern states in India. It is bordered on its west and north by Assam, on its east by Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), on its north by Arunachal Pradesh, and on its south by Manipur. Nagaland is one of India's smallest states, with a total area of 16,579 sq km (6400 sq mi). The Naga Hills run through this small state, which has Saramati as its highest peak at a height of about 12,600 ft. Dhansiri, Doyang, Dikhu and Jhanji are the rivers that flow through this state. The terrain is mountainous, thickly wooded, and cut by deep river valleys. There is a wide variety of plant and animal life.
